Quartz with Manganoan Calcite

Item Description

This wonderfully sculptural Manganoan Calcite specimen features a cluster of lustrous, translucent, light pink crystals artfully set between two two elegant, translucent to transparent Quartz crystals. There are nearly a dozen flattened, rhombohedral crystals from 1 to 3.5 cm across that cascade down the center of the piece between the two Quartz crystals. The Quartz crystal pair is in the shape of an attractive V and they are 8 and 6 cm in length, respectively. There are a few other smaller Quartz crystals strategically placed on the piece as well. The Quartz two prominent crystals have gemmy, perfect terminations with translucent interiors that have sparkling exteriors due to complex growth or possibly etching. This is a very attractive, well balanced and well composed piece! The Manganoan Calcite glows an incredible bright orange fluorescence in short wave UV.
