Quartz with iron oxide inclusions on Fluorite

Item Description

I can't remember seeing a piece quite like this from Morocco. While we've seen a good number of "red" Quartz crystals coming out recently (sometimes they are called Ferruginous Quartz, Red Quartz, "Hematoid" Quartz / Hematite Quartz, Eisenkiesel, etc.), I can't recall seeing the crystals on Fluorite like this piece. Dozens of sharp, lustrous, gemmy, pyramidal Quartz crystals with a distinct orange-red hue (due to iron oxide inclusions) measuring up to 1.5 cm, sit atop a matrix comprising gemmy greenish-blue cubes of Fluorite, measuring up to 1.0 cm on edge. There are a few bruises, but the piece is largely in very good shape. Hard to convey the colors and beauty in this one, but it really stands out as something unique and special unlike anything I think we've had before from Morocco.
