Item Description

A lovely display specimen from Brumado, Brazil featuring a pair of GEM QUALITY, sharp, lustrous, completely colorless hexagonal prismatic crystals of Quartz which have a light but distinctive coloring from red-orange iron oxide on the back of the left-most crystal. The label refers to these crystals as "Geminado", which means "twin" in Portuguese, but unless there is a twinning habit taking place that I'm unfamiliar with, I feel like this crystals are simply in parallel growth, but they don't actually share a common twin plane. With that said, it's still a very attractive specimen, and would make a great addition to any Quartz suite or a collection of Brazilian minerals. From the collection of noted species collector Paolo Matioli of Brazil, who specialized in rarities around the world.
