Quartz with Hydrocarbon Inclusions

Item Description

From a recent discovery, this is an intersting inclusion gem of colorless Quartz, hosting golden and black hydrocarbon inclusions. Hydrocarbon compounds are commonly components in petroleum, and you might see this material labeled as "naphthaline". This stone has an "Emerald" cut, and is the only example we've had to offer from this area. For reference, the stone came to us labeled as coming from Afghanistan, but it could possibly be from Pakistan.
