Quartz with Hematite (var: Specularite) inclusions

A classic example of these now famous Quartz crystals from the Goboboseb Mountains. These pieces show a wide range of colors, habits and styles, and have become a favorite among collectors around the world. This piece is a fine quality, sharp, textbook prismatic colorless / smoky Quartz crystal which is highlighted by small inclusions of Hematite (var: Specularite) which range from dark reddish-brown to black, and vary in their habit from nearly spherical to elongated tabular, anhedral crystals. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the piece is a single, gemmy, pale golden colored rhombic crystal of Calcite placed directly on the front prism face for a great touch. A wonderful example of these celebrated Quartz crystals. Specimen weight is 55.57 grams.
