Quartz with Hematite inclusions, Dolomite & Sphalerite

RARE and colorful large mounded combination from this obscure polymetallic-precious metal producing area of Jiangxi, China - Dongxiang County. Pretty light brick-red hematite is included in most of the multitude of glassy and lustrous quartz points on the sculptural arched matrix. The quartz points reach about 2.5 cm tall. Beautiful, contrasting, pearlescent, creamy, saddle-shaped Dolomite rhombohedrons are richly, dramatically and preferentially deposited on the quartz crystals. The back of the quartz is cored with sphalerite and more dolomite, a bonus. This is a very showy, outstanding and rare large included quartz combination from the less well-known locale. It is from a small collection of beautiful Chinese combination pieces that we purchased in China during COVID times, and is probably an older piece, not contemporary.
