Item Description

A shocking large German quartz cluster! This is a dynamic cluster of vertically oriented translucent, glassy, white Quartz crystals from Stromberg, Germany. This crystal tower has four main Cumberland habit crystals stacked one-on-top of the other with very small to no prismatic faces. Even the smaller associated crystals all share this same habit. The largest of the Quartz measures 6.6 cm tall and 7.1 cm across. They also have preferential reddish brown Hematite inclusions on two faces. The three dimensional piece has engaging geometries highlighted by the 2 large cavities seen towards the back. The specimen also has an unknown silver metallic mineral on one side, possibly due to the detachment from the matrix. There is some nicks and bruising to the crystals noted. A statuesque and unusual Quartz specimen with an outstanding form and aesthetic display. Donated by Shannon Family Minerals to the MINDAT auction. This is an amazing, large specimen!
