Item Description

Fascinating and RARE included quartz from this extinct Pb-Zn deposit, that operated from 1923 to 1960 (MINDAT). The many glassy, lustrous, water-clear quartz crystals on this sculptural rolling plate have scattered inclusions of pretty bright orange, brick-red or brown hematite. RARE tiny brassy Chalcopyrite crystals are also included in many of the quartz points, adding much pizzazz. Chalcopyrite is listed in the MINDAT locality, but there are NO examples in the Photo Gallery. Formerly in the J.R. Glover Collection. Ex Tim Sherburn Collection.
