Hematite-included Quartz from Orange River has been a favorite of collectors for a long time, and that is easy to understand when you see the sharp aesthetics. The Hematite inclusions are uniform throughout the outer layer of the Quartz crystals, creating a rust color that is dramatic and very appealing. All the Quartzes have excellent luster, and good form. The largest crystal is 4 cm tall, and it's positioning on the matrix, surrounded by smaller crystals, is perfect. A very good, very red piece from this well-known locality, for which one seldom sees quartz quite SO red and sharp, of this style. Valued $500.
