Item Description

A big, transparent to milky Quartz crystal and a few companions host a cluster of really pretty seafoam green Fluorites, sparkled with pyrites. This comes from the lesser known (today) from the once quite productive specimen producing tungsten mine, rumored to have been a soviet military site until the 1990s. This is a classic of the kind of material that came out after the Russian region opened up in the 1990s, but we have not seen such things in 20-30 years. This handsome piece is from one of the base metal skarns and comprises a commanding and robust three-inch tall and over one and a half inch wide Quartz crystal upon which a group of four, translucent to slightly transparent seafoam green, octahedral Fluorite crystals grace one side. They are actually a pair of two tightly intergrown crystals that have a satiny luster largely due to all of the small growth features on the octahedral faces. There are several smaller, 1 to 2.8 cm, milky Quartz crystals on the backside that are associated with small clusters of 1 to 3 mm, brassy yellow Pyrite cubes. There are also tiny Pyrite crystals sprinkled on the front of the Fluorite crystals as well. Valued $1500-2000
