Quartz with Epidote

Item Description

This is a unique and incredibly aesthetic small cabinet specimen of Epidote and Quartz from Peru. It features a tall, 6.8 cm, translucent, terminated, green tinted Quartz crystal with a smaller, crossing, 3.8 cm doubly terminated Quartz crystal near its base. The tall Quartz crystal is dramatically accentuated by several bundled and slightly divergent groups of glistening green Epidote crystals. The Epidote clusters project right off the large Quartz crystal in dramatic fashion! They are a medium olive green and display an almost silky luster due to the tight, near-parallel growth of the individual, thin, elongate crystals. There is one prominent, complete cluster at 45 degrees off the Quartz crystal in the front that is spectacular and then there are three smaller, complete sprays that accompany it and then two partial sprays on the backside that are contacted, probably from what were adjacent Quartz crystals. This is a very artful combination piece with great balance and composition. We believe it to be from 1990s finds.
