Quartz with Dumortierite inclusions

Superb transparent quartz crystal partially covered with a really micro-fine dusting layer of rare Dumortierite on several faces as well as on the matrix beneath. This was part of the large Quartz suite of the Schauss collection. While much of this material came out, richer or bigger pieces included, it was a challenge to find a nice specimen for the quartz itself, that fit a quartz oriented thumbnail suite. It needed the termination and the shape! Note, the color on the bottom is more visible in person and, also, there are a few dings on the tip - but generally much of this material had some minor damages.
