Quartz with Dumortierite

Stunning, doubly-terminated, single crystal of Quartz with acicular inclusions of bright blue Dumortierite crystals up to 3 mm in length. The piece has mostly glassy luster, with both transparent and translucent faces due to having Dumortierite needles embedded in the surface of 2 of the faces. The radial bursts of blue inclusions suspended within the Quartz are a definite eye-catching feature. The specimen is distinctive in that there is superb coverage of Dumortierite across most faces and on both terminations. The Quartz is in excellent condition with only one visible termination nick, but the main display feature here is the Dumortierite. So many of these are polished to better highlight the inclusions, however this piece is natural or "unpolished". The Quartz is transparent enough to showcase the fine clustered lavender-blue Dumortierite naturally. An outstanding example of a highly desirable and coveted Dumortierite in Quartz specimen. These often sell for 4 figures and more at shows today BUT those are clusters and singles. Cannot recall seeing such a nice, robust DT crystal as yet.
