Item Description

A beautiful example of the fine Nepalese Quartz crystals. These may not be terribly common on the market, but they are truly among the upper tiers of Quartz crystals in terms of crystallization, clarity and overall quality. This piece is a single, colorless, hexagonal prism with excellent internal clarity, but it's accentuated by a wonderful, distinct internal "phantom" of moss-green colored "Chlorite". The piece is in very good condition, the only roughness is a separation mark on the back where another Quartz crystal once grew. Ex Dr. Stephen Smale Collection. Along with amassing one of the finest private mineral collections in the world, Steve is a renowned mathematician. His accomplishments include being awarded the Fields Medal in 1966 along with being the awarded the Wolf Prize in mathematics in 2007.
