Quartz with Chalcopyrite & Galena

A striking cluster of bright, golden-metallic Chalcopyrite sphenoids is very aesthetically set on one side of the sculptural 360-degree, small cabinet cluster of very interesting, glassy, translucent, sharply terminated, stepped-growth Quartz crystals. The Quartz crystals strongly resemble flower buds. The impressive large, dominating Chalcopyrite is 2.0 cm on edge. Sections of Galena crystals at the base are a typical accessory, contrast and fine complement. Ex Kurt Hefendehl Collection (#79 Ru), a well-known German collector who amassed a world-wide collection of over 6000 pieces. He passed away in 2020. The historic and ancient gold-polymetallic mines at Cavnic have been known since 1336 (MINDAT) and this is an outstanding and aesthetic combination example of the species.
