Item Description

A classic Quartz specimen from Leadville showing a disticnt after a tabular mineral (possibly Barite). The crystals have a light golden dusting of iron oxide for a beautiful two-tone color appearance. Small manganese-oxide dendrites can be seen on the base of the piece as well. The piece comes from the collection of Hal Miller, and the locality is actually painted on the base of the specimen. It is certainly one of the few pieces of this sought after material that I have offered, since they are so rarely offered on the market these days. Good quality overall, despite a little roughness, but if you collect Leadville minerals, or interesting Quartz specimens, this one is for you.
