Item Description

A really unusual Quartz specimen from Brazil featuring a group of gemmy/translucent, slightly smoky colored crystals, but what really draws the eye is an inclusion of another Quartz crystal showing Brazil-Law twinning with a notably reddish-brown coating that is included inside of the larger Quartz. A small "nub" of the twin is actually poking through the surface, so it's not 100% included inside, but it's still one of the strangest Quartz specimens I've seen from Brazil. There is some damage, as there are little nicks and one of the smaller Quartz crystals is bashed, but it's all about the odd twin inclusion here, certainly unique and different.
From the collection of Kay Robertson (#10127). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020.
