Quartz with Amethyst and Smoky Quartz phantoms

A stunning specimen of brilliantly glassy, razor-sharp quartz showing equally sharply delineated phantoms inside. Moreover, the phantoms are of both smoky quartz AND amethyst, making for a stark and unusual contrast. This is a rare, fat crystal on matrix and is not repaired as are most finer matrix pieces from thi stough-to-dig locale. It is so much more glassy and bright than the "average" quality quartz or amethyst point from here, that it is in the top percentile of quality. This was formerly in the collection of dealer Charlie Key, of Swakopmund. It is complete all around and looks good from either side. It shoudl be valued around $4000-5000, although I admit that the value is more apparent in person at shows, where they sell quite well, than in still photos. Comes with custom lucite display base.
