Quartz with Ajoite inclusions (1980s find and unpolished)

Messina is home to a famous, instantly recognizable occurrence of unique and beautiful Quartz specimens in which the Quartz crystals are included with bright blue Ajoite. Specimens can vary, but this delightful, small-cabinet piece is rich in Ajoite inclusions (a very uncommon copper-containing silicate that is very rare from other localities and seldom this concentrated). The Ajoite puffballs and acicular sprays help delineate a phantom that stands out sharply just below the surface, and the inclusions create a wonderful aesthetic that is hard to beat. There were several small finds around the 1980's and, as you can imagine, quality Ajoite-in-Quartz specimens are seldom available, and highly sought-after. This is a significant piece in the size range because of the outstanding richness, color, sharp crystal; and that it is NOT POLISHED as so many were! It is still a natural crystal, and so few of those have survived. Such things are usually valued in a range of 5-10k when seen at shows or online, which is so rarely.
