Quartz w/ radiation burns & Schorl (ex Obodda)

Item Description

You can clearly see the natural radiation burns within the glassy quartz crystal, that has been mostly converted to smoky quartz, except for the termination by the schorl. Some of the prism faces of the quartz are water-clear, while others are frosted. It appears, that the schorl inhibited the radiation from completely converting the quartz to smoky quartz. Facinating and highly unusual! The quartz is complete all-around and very nearly pristine, except for trivial bruising by the schorl. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Rare Pakistan material.
