This sculptural and aesthetic 360-degree San Diego County quartz cluster RARITY has a fine surprise and bonus. The dramatic, dominating, pristine, 5.0 x 3.5 x 2.7 cm, stout tapered quartz crystal hosts a well-defined phantom, that is visible on all six faces. The striking water-clear crystal has both glass-clear and satin lustre faces, which are enhanced by stepped-growth. VERY RARE, as this outstanding quartz is from the Waley Mine, a long extinct very obscure GOLD mine. MINDAT features NO photos in the locality gallery. Formerly in the James Bowersox Collection, a well known California collector. Recently from the Bill Larson San Diego County Collection and long on display at his Pala International shop in Fallbrook.
