Item Description
Adularia, a variety of K-feldspar is very RARE from Arkansas. A densely intergrown broadening band of pearlescent adularia crystals aesthetically courses upward across the large sculptural cluster of intergrown quartz crystals. 11.0 cm long, the pristine dominating glassy quartz point is highlighted by the striking complex water-clear termination beautifully accented by fine stepped-growth faces. The impressive broad and pristine secondary quartz crystal, at 9.5 cm, is doubly terminated and is dramatically accented at the termination by the two intergrown opposing quartz points, at 2.2 cm, that look like a doubly terminated crystal. The 6.0 cm quartz point in the front with the gem termination is another fine accessory. The quartz crystals are complete all-around and pristine. The attachments are at the base of the quartz and on the back adularia crystals. This piece came out in a major pocket in 2013. "So far they have hit a major pocket of adularia and quartz combination specimens which are unique in quality and size for North America. " See http://www.mindat.org/loc-11725.html. Valued at $1000. VERY rare on the market.
