Item Description

Colorful and RARE large combination material from an obscure China locale known for iron mining and iron minerals like chalcopyrite, in Dongxiang Co., Fuzhou, Jiangxi. Pretty light brick-red hematite is included in most of the plethora of glassy and lustrous quartz points on the sculptural undulating large matrix. The quartz crystals reach about 1.7 cm. Nifty accessories and contrasts to the quartz are the patches and isolated crystals of iridescent Chalcopyrite sphenoids and melted-look Galena crystals. The back of the plate hosts much Sphalerite. Very showy and rare large included quartz combination material from the less well-known locale. The piece displays well from either direction. This is from a small collection of beautiful Chinese combination pieces that we purchased in China during COVID times, and is probably an older piece, not contemporary.
