Item Description

RARE-style, sharp chevron-shaped light green chlorite phantoms are clearly visible in the 5.7 cm well-positioned quartz crystal on this fascinating RARE small cabinet combination from Dalnegorsk. The quartz crystal is attractively surrounded by small quartz crystals and calcite scalenohedrons. The phantoms are very distinctive and eye-catching, especially through the frontal crystal faces. The primary crystal is complete all-around, but the termination is lightly bruised. This striking piece bears a marked resemblance to well-known chlorite-included quartz crystals from several localities in Minas Gerais, Brazil but is not from there! This is VERY RARE, OLD quartz of this style from the late 1980s or early 1990s, when Dalnegorsk material was first reaching Western markets. Ex Kurt Hefendehl Collection. The piece is listed as Russia (USSR) No. 10 in his Russia catalogue, which has 735 entries. Probably from the 1980s, therefore.
