Dramatic, sculptural and rare quartz from this less well-known Minas Gerais locale. Fine smoky quartz, quartz and other species are known from here, but chlorite-included and clay-included quartz crystals are rare. This very aesthetic piece is dominated by the 5.3 cm sharply terminated, partially water-clear, gem crystal. The larger gemmy crystals have some sparkly, sugary light pastel-green chlorite inclusions and some are strikingly accented with contrasting included clays. The skeletal contact on one side of the large crystal, with no damage, per se, adds pizzazz. The attached sparkly drusy quartz is a super accessory and contrast. An outstanding and rare included quartz cluster from this obscure locality from the Ken Roberts Collection.
