Item Description

An elegant cluster of gemmy, intergrown smoky quartz from this famous locality for unusual species of rare earth minerals, zircon and aegirine (best in world for aegirine!). Fine smoky quartz from here is not common in such gemmy and transparent quality. The tips, darker smoky color than the body, were probably influenced by natural radiation in the ground which causes stronger color. An unusual, fine, 360 degree cluster, with aegirine crystals as an accent. Donated to the MINDAT auction.
