Item Description

Of the thousands of world localities for Quartz, very few of them produce crystals of the same quality as those from the Swiss Alps. The top examples of these pieces are certainly among the most desirable and finest crystallized examples of the species extant. This piece is labeled from the famous Planggenstock, famous for its superb Quartz crystals and pink Fluorites. This showy cabinet sized display piece features a predominant, 9.0 cm, sharp, very well-formed, excellent hexagonal prism of GEM QUALITY lightly colored Smoky Quartz, along with several other smaller Smoky Quartz crystals on matrix. The main Smoky is actually doubly-terminated and is in superb condition, and I can't find any major damage Overall it's quite a showy display specimen with top notch crystals that would make a great addition to any Quartz suite, Alpine collection or a collection of European/Swiss minerals.
