Quartz var: Smoky (''phantom'' crystal)

Brazil is one of the greatest Quartz-producing countries on Earth. It's not just about the quantity found, but there have been a large number of superbly well-crystallized examples of this incredibly well-known species to come out over many decades. This piece is fine quality single crystal of Smoky Quartz with sharp, well-formed, lustrous faces and excellent gemminess (virtually WATER-CLEAR in areas). If you look closely, you can see there is a distinct and eye-catching internal "phantom" with the same shape as the pyramidal termination on the piece which shows up well with backlighting. The termination is in good shape, but there are a couple tiny imperfections, so it's not 100% pristine. A very attractive example of this beautiful and classic material from Brazil.
