Quartz var. Smoky

Item Description

Lovely elongated and transparent light Smoky Quartz crystal that is sharply terminated on one end with a recrystallized termination on the other. The large 14 cm long tabular crystal has no attachment points making it a "floater" with faces that have very detailed horizontal striations. There is one sidecar crystal that interesting enough is clear Quartz. There is minor wear on some of the edges and some chipping on the termination point but even with the non-pristine condition the display of the enchanting Smoky nature of the crystal gives it a very graceful and refined appearance. One would expect a Smoky Quartz specimen of this quality to be from somewhere like Brazil or Switzerland, however this is from a seldom seen location in Russia, presumably from old finds. Ex.
