Item Description
The beautiful and fine quality Rose Quartz specimens from the Sapucaia Mine in Brazil are renowned for their excellent size, quality and crystallization. This is a fantastic combo of two Quartz varieties featuring a sharp, GEMMY, pale golden colored Smoky Quartz which plays host to a scepter overgrowth of light pink, translucent Rose Quartz crystals on the termination. The form, aesthetics and association make for a very desirable and eye-catching display piece. Very good quality all around, with no damage I can see. If you collect Quartz, Brazilian minerals or just good display pieces, don't miss out on this one. It should be noted that the color in Rose Quartz is caused by tiny fibrous inclusions of the silicate species Dumortierite (George Rossman was actually able to extract the fibers from Rose Quartz - https://www.mindat.org/photo-743401.html ).
Not only is this piece fine quality, it's also 50 years old as it comes from a find in Brazil in the 1970s.
Valued $3,500.
