Item Description
Rose Quartz is not often found in well-crystallized examples from most localities, but the pieces from the Pitorra Claim in Brazil are one of the few exceptions. Rose Quartz is a very distinctive variety of Quartz, not just for the color, but also the fact that most of the Rose Quartz you'll see from around the world are often hazy in terms of their clarity, and this is due to the fact that the color is created by micro inclusions of a fibrous pink colored unidentified mineral which is related to Dumortierite. Check out the photo at this link for a fantastic close up of what these inclusions look like ( https://www.mindat.org/photo-743314.html ). This piece features fine, sharp, well-formed, gemmy, soft pink colored crystals, which are overgrowing colorless Quartz underneath, with a bit of associated Muscovite on the back. Classic eye-catching material.
