A very attractive miniature sized display specimen of this classic Brazilian material. Without a doubt, the finest crystallized examples of Rose Quartz have been found in Brazil over the last 50+ years. This piece features a sharp, lustrous, classic pink color, hexagonal crystal of Rose Quartz that is dramatically flaring off of somewhat etched, cream colored Albite (var: Cleavelandite) matrix. This area is well known for its beautiful specimens of Rose Quartz, but it's a rarity to find sharp, well-formed, isolated crystals of this material aesthetically sitting on matrix. We're used to seeing intergrown clusters and "bursts" of Rose Quartz crystals on and off matrix, but this particular style is not easy to find. To top it off, the crystal is extremely gemmy and shows a unique "turret"-style termination. Valued at $950. From the collection of Brian Kosnar.
