Item Description

Rose Quartz from the mines in Galileia are among the most noted in the world, and were first discovered in the 1970's. This fine miniature is composed of gemmy and lustrous crystals with a soft pink color. Averaging nearly 1 cm in size, these lovely Rose Quartz crystals are perfectly arranged in a beautiful spray. I'm not sure what it is about the specific growing conditions or the chemistry of Rose Quartz, but classic specimens often have the crystals growing in wreaths, wrapping themselves around the matrix. The hollow nature of the Quartz matrix certainly has overtones of that. Rose Quartz remains uncommon, and quality, aesthetic specimens such as this are hard to find, and are cherished by collectors. A gorgeous "rose quartz Rose" the noted historic classics collection of Richard 'Dick' Hauck of New Jersey. Probably an old one, as Dick was among the earlier collectors to obtain fine Brazilian specimens as they started coming to the market after the 1950s
