Item Description

The name "Prase" or "Prasem" has been used to describe several kinds of Quartz over the years, including a rock type of Quartzsite, and even Jasper. Essentially the term is broadly used now, and typically refers to any kind of soft to dark green colored Quartz. This piece is a beautiful crystallized example of Prase Quartz from the famous collection of Eric Asselborn of France. The quality is super, as it features VERY lustrous, sharp faces with no damage, save the bottom. The color starts out with a rich forest green hue at the base and grades into a nearly colorless/white shade at the termination. The "stacked" formation along the prism, with the perfect hexagonal termination make for a great overall example of the material. Very worthwhile for anybody who collects Quartz.
