Quartz var. Herkimer Diamonds - large matrix specimen

Sharp, gem-like crystals of quartz form rosettes and knolls sticking up from matrix on this large and 3-dimensional specimen. This is a major Herkimer Diamond matrix specimen, as they are very hard to get out and thus very rare in this size! This is from the well known quartz collection of Daniel Trinchillo, Sr - much of which was publicly auctioned off in 2008. He specialized in New York quartz, in particular. The piece is a large showpiece, and such matrix specimens are extremely hard to get, with crystals still attached at least. The piece comes with a custom-made lucite base to display it (the base is worth $200 or more, on its own cost). Valued $1200-1500
