Item Description

While Japan-Law twins are not necessarily rare in Quartz, it is incredibly difficult to find Japan-Law twins of Citrine! As far as I know these might be the first reported specimens of this habit ever found. Around 2010-2011, we first started to see these piece hit the market at the Tucson Show, and they were a bit hit for the excellent twinning combined with the large overall crystals. Japan-Law twins of this size are almost never seen from any locality. This piece is a robust, well-formed, fairly thick, sharp, GEMMY, rich smoky-golden colored Japan-Law twin free of matrix. The piece has some interrupted growth on the sides where other Quartz crystals once grew, along with a bit of minor roughness, here and there, but it's still a big and impressive example of his limited and eye-catching material from Zambia. It's important to note that the locality where these pieces were found is in the middle of the wilderness, and most of the early specimens that were found were simply thrown into bags, so they all had at least a little damage due to the crude method in which they were collected and transported. Priced in our inventory at $3,750 and comes with FREE custom display base.
