Item Description

The Olkhovka deposit in the Subarctic Urals of Russia produced a small number of fine quality, NATURAL Citrine crystals circa 2006-2007. It's important to note that naturally occurring Citrine crystals are rare in nature, and the vast majority of material you see on the market (especially in the lapidary trade) has been either heated or irradiated to create the color. This specimen is an excellent, sharp, lustrous, very gemmy, prismatic hexagonal crystal group sitting on white translucent Quartz matrix. The main crystal measures 7.8 cm long and has a rich saturated almost "smoky" Citrine hue to it along with being incredibly gemmy (virtually WATER CLEAR in areas). A secondary accenting crystal with a soft yellow hue can be seen flaring off the side. No major damage, though I did see a little nick on the main crystal. A showy, three-dimensional display piece of this attractive and hard to find material. Priced at $1,200 in the inventory.
