Quartz (var: Chalcedony) (var: Chrysoprase) (2022 find)

Item Description

From a 2022 discovery on Sulawesi Island, Indonesia, here we have a rarely seen specimen of beautiful Chrysoprase. This material is defined as variety of Chalcedony (which is in itself a variety of Quartz) with a characteristic apple green to slightly blue-green color which according to mindat is caused by inclusions of nickel-bearing silicates such as Willemseite, Népouite or others. This is a lovely specimen featuring beautiful brightly seafoam green colored Chrysoprase on all sides. It's translucent internally, certainly lapidary grade and the color is quite eye-catching. If you're a fan of Quartz and its many varieties, I'll bet you don't have one of these in your collection, especially from this recent find. We wanted to throw it into the auctions to give everybody a chance to get their hands on one of these beauties, since there were very few available to us.
