Quartz var: Chalcedony (var: Chrysoprase) (New Find!)

Item Description

From a brand new find on Sulawesi Island, Indonesia, here we have a rarely seen hefty cabinet sized display specimen of Chrysoprase. This material is a variety of Chalcedony with a characteristic apple green to slightly blue-green color which according to mindat is caused by inclusions of nickel-bearing silicates such as Willemseite, Népouite or others. Typically you only see massive "chunks" of Chrysoprase from various world localities, but this piece is actually a displayable matrix specimen featuring beautiful brightly seafoam green colored patches of Chrysoprase associated with small spherical groups of nearly colorless Chalcedony. Very fun to view up close and inside of a display case. If you're a fan of Quartz and its many varieties, I'll bet you don't have one of these in your collection, especially a robust near large cabinet sized specimen like this. This piece was collected in early 2022, and literally just arrived at our office a couple weeks ago, and we wanted to throw it into the auctions to give everybody a chance to get their hands on one of these beauties immediately.
