Item Description
From a find in August of 2018, we were fortunate that a good friend was able to get us some of these really attractive Chalcedony specimens during a trip to the small island of Lesvos (Lesbos), where he discovered the deposit. They are certainly different from most Chalcedony specimens you see on the market, but they are reminiscent of the classic old pieces from Cornwall, England while still having their own signature appearance.. The shape and form is mostly botryoidal, but somewhat stalactitic. The combination of the deep silvery-blue and lilac hues combined with the stark white tones creates a very pleasing contrast. This particular piece is in very good condition, and the only real damage is on the edges where it was removed from the pocket. When you consider the countless localities for Quartz in the world, and the many varieties, habits and colors, this one is different and special. If you're a fan of Quartz, this is something that you just don't see on the market, and a great pickup for any collection.
