Quartz (var: Chalcedony) Geode (beautiful color)

Item Description

This piece is labeled as coming from Morocco, but the listing for the locality on mindat.org simply refers to the area as being located in North Africa. This is a wonderful cabinet geode sized specimen of Chalcedony featuring attractive botryoidal aggregates with an alluring lavender color surrounded by a rich reddish-pink colored band of Agate on the exterior edge. The combination of colors makes for a very enticing display piece that would stand out in a display case, as you rarely encounter specimens with these hues together. From the collection of Vasco Trancoso, a medical doctor and prominent mineral collector from near Lisbon, Portugal (https://www.mindat.org/user-11954.html). He assembled his mineral collection over the course of 60 years, and built a fine worldwide display collection that we recently purchased.
