Item Description
This piece came to me directly from a Chinese dealer who couldn't give a more accurate locality than "Gobi". While I've seen plenty of piece of Chalcedony and Agate from the Gobi Desert, I've never seen one quite like this. It honestly reminds me of the classic lavender Chalcedony specimens from various localities in New Mexico and / or Arizona. It even show small areas of bright green fluorescence under SW UV light, just like the pieces from the southwestern United States. This piece has a gorgeous form with a soft, flowing, almost ethereal appearance and a mix of pale pink and lavender tones. The central portion is partially hollow like a vug, and almost reminds me of an elaborate oyster shell. Very attractive in person, and unlike anything I've seen from the Gobi Desert previously. Specimen weight is 122.9 grams
