Item Description
RARE, fanciful, sculptural and colorful two-sided plate of parallel-growth chalcedony stalactites from Perry, Florida in the coastal bend area of the state in the Gulf of Mexico. The translucent, nubby columnals have enticing variable golden honey-brown to reddish-brown hues. The piece GLOWS, when backlit. Ex John Whatley Collection, a well-known Georgia collector (1939-2022). Rare unusual curtain like-form of Florida chalcedony, as MINDAT does NOT list chalcedony in Taylor County.
