Quartz var. Amethyst with Hematite inclusions

Item Description

This is a really classic old style of quartz from South Africa: a nice V-shaped arrangement of Hematite included Quartz with Amethyst at the interior, from the Orange River area of South Africa. This attractive and lustrous piece consists of two main crystals, one at 6.5 cm in length and the other at 4.5 cm and both are quite robust. The crystals are both interesting and attractive in that much of each crystal is composed of translucent, light to medium gray-lavender Quartz in the body transitioning to darker purple Amethyst towards their terminations that are obscured by a later generation/coating of contrasting, brown-red Quartz. There is a third, 3 cm Quartz crystal that sits upright at the junction of the two larger Quartz crystals. It's a handsome piece and sits attractively in a couple of different orientations.
