A classic and very beautiful plate of glassy and lustrous Amethyst crystals from the Diamond Willow Mine in Thunder Bay. The upper portions of the crystals are a gorgeous, intense, brick red from the inclusion of Hematite, and the largest of the crystals is an impressive 4 cm. From the side, you can see the purple Amethyst of the earlier growth of the crystals. Expertly collected, there is only minimal contacting along the edges in just a few spots. Excellent, highly representative material from the famous Thunder Bay District of Ontario. Terrific aesthetics, this is one of the very best pieces I have seen from here. Originally priced at $350.
