Item Description
This is a wonderful specimen of these beautiful Amethyst slices from Ametista do Sul. This piece is a polished cross section of an Amethyst stalactite (sliced down the "c" axis). You can see the far outer edges are nearly colorless Quartz, while the majority of the body of the crystals are purple Amethyst and the central portion of the slice is banded Chalcedony ranging from tan to sandy/brown hues. These specimens are not easy to find on the market these days, though they used to be available from Brazilian dealers more regularly years ago.
