Brandberg is world-famous for its beautiful, colorful, and fine quality Quartz specimens. The centerpiece of this impressive cabinet specimen is a gorgeous, glassy, single Amethyst that rises like a skyscraper from the crystalline matrix below. Gem clear with a sharp, rich purple phantom that seems to dance along with wisps of Smoky, the crystal faces are decorated by tiny and gemmy Quartz crystals that are surprisingly eye-catching. Hidden within the forest of Quartz crystals are Calcite crystals best revealed by their orange-sherbet fluorescence. This is a fine example of now classic material. Such specimens on matrix are not nearly as common as the single crystals.
