Quartz var: Amethyst / Smoky (scepter) with Hematite inclusions

Quartz specimens from the Chiredzi District (this piece was labeled as coming from the "Chibuke" Mine) in Zimbabwe are not terribly common on the market. Limited producing in recent years hasn't helped the supply, which is a shame as these pieces are quite good at their peak. This piece is a fine quality, very sharp, rather lustrous, notably gemmy scepter habit crystal showing richly colored Amethyst/Smoky color zones. Looking closely with backlighting, one can see dozens of thin "needle"-like crystals of vibrant blood red colored inclusions of Hematite suspended inside the Quartz. Good quality on all sides, with only a few tiny imperfections that I found with a loupe. A choice and showy example of these elusive specimens.
