Item Description
When it comes to Amethyst from Georgia, most people think of the famous Jacksons Crossroads locality, but this piece is from a more obscure locale in Elbert County. The piece features light purple colored Amethyst crystals, forming an attractive scepter habit growth, atop white/colorless Quartz prisms. The piece is nearly a "floater", but the back of the larger scepter has some separation marks and a contacted area where it was separated from the pocket wall. Still it's virtually damage-free on the front/display side, and would make a great addition to any worldwide Quartz suite or a collection of minerals from the southern United States. From the collection of Richard ("Dick") Philip Hauck formerly of Bloomfield, New Jersey and now a resident of Franklin, New Jersey. Dick is an avid collector of minerals, books, and mining memorabilia, along with being an accomplished author in the mineral world. Arguably, his greatest claim to fame is being the co-founder of the Sterling Hill Mining Museum in Ogdensburg, NJ. Dick purchased the land on which the Sterling Hill Mine resides in 1988, and the museum has been running strong since. NOTE ADDED - WE HAVE REMOVED SPECIFIC LOCATION INFORMATION ON THIS AT THE REQUEST OF THE PROPERTY OWNER. THIS IS PRIVATE PROPERTY, AND COLLECTING IS NOT ALLOWED OR PERMITTED TODAY.
