Item Description

When it comes to multiple thousands of individual species of minerals in the world, Quartz might be the most well-known, and Amethyst is almost certainly the most well-known variety. With that said, there are a select few localities around the world that produce truly iconic, top quality and highly sought after examples. One of those localities is undoubtedly Piedra Parada (referred to as "Las Vigas" for years) in Veracruz, Mexico. This locality has produced some of the most stunning and high quality Amethyst specimens with superb form, color, crystallization, gemminess and composition. In addition to the Amethysts, some specimens are associated with pistachio-green colored Epidote creating a beautiful combo of colors, that is not really seen from anywhere else in the world. This piece is a beautiful small cabinet-sized display featuring a fine quality, razor-sharp, lustrous and gemmy crystal with a stark purple hue showing a slight scepter habit at the base, associated with a minor amount of the aforementioned Epidote for a nice contrast. No major damage, and complete all around.
